- Configure and manage channels: information, previews, and status

- Configure labels, variables, and recordings
- Start and stop channel recording. Control the operation of each channel manually by an operator or automatically via web services
- Notify operator of high resource consumption that may require attention.
Viewing a Channel’s Recording History
To display the recording history for a channel, do the following:- On the channel card, click the More (three vertical dots) button.
- Select Channel History from the drop-down menu.
Loss of Signal (LOS) Behavior
If LOS is detected on an input at start-up and the state doesn’t change, then: The thumbnail and preview displays the message, Source is not available. Starting an UP.Capture recording when the input is in this state results in a job failure.Viewing Information for a Source
To preview a media source and to view the transport statistics and metadata for the source, do the following:- In the UP left-side navigation bar, under Capture, select Channels.
- Click the channel card for the desired source.
UP.Capture opens the channel display and information panel to the right, with the Preview button selected by default. - To view the transport statistics for the source, click the Preview Statistics button.
- To view the metadata for the source, click the Metadata button.
Adding a New Channel
- In the UP left-side navigation bar, under Capture, select Channels.
UP.Capture opens the channels preview panel. - Click the Add New Channel button.
- Select the type of source from the drop-down menu.
UP.Capture opens the Add New Channel panel to the right. - Fill in the required fields, and click the Next button.
- Select a source from the Live Source drop-down menu, and click the Next button.
- Fill in the required fields, and click the Next button.
In the channels preview panel, UP.Capture displays a channel card for the new channel.
Configuring a Recording
- Add one or more video sources to UP.
See Configuring Live Sources. - In the UP left-side navigation bar, under Capture, select Channels.
UP.Capture opens the channels preview panel. - On the desired channel card, click Edit Recording Configuration.
UP.Capture displays the Configurations pane in the Configure Recording view. - To change the configuration, click the Edit (pencil) button.
- Change any of the configuration settings as desired.
- Click the Save Configuration button.
Capturing Video
- In the UP left-side navigation bar, under Capture, select Channels.
UP.Capture opens the channels preview panel. - On the desired channel card, click the Activate button.
UP.Capture activates the worker, changes the Source Status to Ready to Record, starts timecode, and opens the Channels Display and Information Panel—with Preview selected by default.

UP.Capture starts recording, changes the Source Status to Recording, and changes the Start/Record button to the Stop button.

UP.Capture displays a dialog asking you to confirm. - To confirm that you want to stop recording, click Yes.
- UP.Capture displays a message confirming that it has stopped recording.
