Recording settings
Structure
How a recording settings document is put together.
A settings document is a list of
outputs, one per file to write. Each output says where it goes and under what name, and carries formatSettings: the container format, that format’s own settings under general, and one entry per track under video and audio. Each track says which source track it applies to, whether it is recorded, and its codec in format.
Choosing a format or a codec brings that choice’s own settings with it, alongside the format that chose them. The pages here document each container format’s settings and each codec’s, and say where they land. Field names are written as they appear in the JSON, so fileName rather than file_name.How a channel records its live source: the outputs to write and how each is encoded.
The files to write from the recording, one entry per output.
