# UP.Review Configuration

Configure UP.Review before using it. You can customize UP, and UP.Review, for your specific system from the UP.Review *Settings* tab.

## Opening Settings

To open the UP.Review *Settings* menu, browse to **Review > Settings**.

UP expands the Review *Settings* menu.

## Configuring Storage for UP.Review

You can configure UP storage for use with UP.Review.

## Configuring UP.Review for a Pre-signed URL Asset

With UP.Review, you can open assets with presigned URLs. A presigned URL is a link to a file in a remote S3 bucket. A presigned URL has an expiration date.

To configure UP.Review to use a pre-signed URL, do the following:

1. Copy a pre-signed URL you've created for an asset in a remote S3 bucket.
2. In Review, browse to **Review > Browser**, and click the **Presigned URL** button. Review opens the *Presigned URL* field.
3. Paste the presigned URL you copied into the *Presigned URL* field.
4. (Optional) To create a media package for the pre-signed URL asset, click the *Create Media Package* button. See Creating a Media Package.
5. To open the presigned URL asset, click the *Open* button.

## Creating a Sub-Storage Folder for UP.Review

You can create sub-storage folders for assets. Sub-storage folders allow you to limit access to specified assets, and help keep assets organized. To create a sub-storage folder for UP.Review, do the following:

1. Click the **User** button and browse to **Organization Settings**. Review displays a list of available *Live Sources*.
2. Select the Storage you want to add a sub-storage folder to, and click the ellipse (...) for that storage location. Review displays a drop-down menu.
3. Select **Add Sub Storage** from the drop-down menu. Review opens the *Add Sub Storage* dialog.
4. Enter a name and path for the sub-storage folder, and click **Add**. Review adds the sub-storage folder under the name of its associated main folder. If necessary, click the chevron next to the storage folder name, to display sub-storage folders.
5. To map the sub-storage folder to a space, do the following: a. Select **Spaces**. b. Click the space name of the space desired, and select **Edit** from the drop-down menu. c. In the *Edit Space* dialog, select one or more sub-storage folder names from the *Storage* drop-down menu, and click **Save**.
6. In Review, click the **Browser** tab, and select the storage location where you created the sub-storage folder. Review displays the sub-storage folders you created.

## Configuring Users for UP.Review

You can configure UP user accounts for use with UP.Review.

## Assigning UP.Review Permissions to a User Role

To create a user role permission for UP.Review, follow the steps in *Adding a User Role* in the *UP Configuration Guide*, with the following particulars:

Under the *Review* heading, select one of the following permissions for the role:

* **No access**
* **\<role name Operator> Playback Access** — Users with this permission can use all playback features in Review, but can't configure most settings of Review, and may not be able to play back all available media files.
* **\<role name Admin> Playback and Admin Access** — Users with this permission can manage and modify all Review settings within the assigned space.

The following table displays the different permissions for Playback access and Playback and Admin Access. Generally, playback is available to all users, but application-level configurations typically are limited to administrators.

When you click *Add*, UP updates the UP.Review role with the permissions specified.

You can configure Spaces for use with UP.Review.

To configure a space for UP.Review, follow the steps in *Configuring a Space for Review*.

## Finding Assets in an S3 Bucket

To find the media files in a configured S3 bucket, do the following:

1. Do one of the following: \
   a. In the left-side navigation pane, browse to **Review > Browser**. \
   b. In the left-side navigation pane, browse to **Review > Player**.
2. Do one of the following: \
   a. To browse to the bucket, click **Browse**. \
   b. To view a list of recently viewed files, click **Recent Files**. \
   c. Enter the name of the desired file into the *Find Recent File* field.

The search for files in the recent files isn't case-sensitive, while the search for files within a bucket is case-sensitive.

UP.Review displays a list of files.

## Launching a Session for a File in an S3 Bucket

To launch a session for an S3 bucket, do the following:

1. Find the desired S3 bucket.
2. Double-click the name of the bucket.\
   UP.Review launches a session for the selected bucket.

## Creating a Media Package

You can create media packages in UP.Review. A media package can contain a video file and its associated sidecar files, such as audio files, caption files, and Qualify reports. To create a media package, do the following:

1. Find the desired video file in an S3 bucket. See *Finding Assets in an S3 Bucket*.
2. Select the name of the desired video file, and click the **Create Media Package** button. Review adds the selected video file to the *MEDIA PACKAGE* list toward the bottom of the screen.
3. In the drop-down menu to the right of the media file name, select **Primary Media**.
4. Find and select one or more additional files for the media package. To select multiple neighboring files, Shift-click the first and last file desired. To select multiple files not neighboring one another in the list, Ctrl-click each file desired.
5. Do one of the following:
   * Click **Add as Sidecar**.
   * Double-click the asset desired. Review adds the selected files to the *MEDIA PACKAGE* list toward the bottom of the screen.

## Opening a Media Package

To open a media package, select any file in the media package and click the **Open Media Package** button.

Review opens the video file and the sidecar files associated with it in the media package.
